New Release – A Dark Guardian

Feb 28 2012, 8:14 am

The re-release of the Shield series is officially here!  I had forgotten how much fun I had with this series until I read over the stories again to do a bit of revising.  Makes me wonder why I didn’t make the series longer. :)   If you haven’t taken a look at the Shields, start with The Beginning.  For those who have read the Druids Glen books, you’ll recognize Aimery.  The Fae Commander plays a major part in the Shield series, as do many of the Fae.

Dear Reader -

Have you ever wanted to travel through time with weapons crafted by the Fae themselves? To experience adventure so thrilling and dangerous you don’t know if you will live to see tomorrow? Now my men and I are faced with fighting creatures only thought to live in legend but which have been brought to Earth by evil bent on annihilating all the realms. That is my life – and I love it.

At least I did until I found myself staring into the angelic, innocent face of Lady Mina of Stone Crest. In all the time I have led the Shields I have trusted my instinct to keep us alive, yet now I don’t know what to believe. Everything points to Mina as the evil summoning the creatures, but she proclaims her innocence.

I should be able to see through her lies, if she is indeed lying, but my attraction to her blinds me to even that. The last time I found myself so lured to a woman, it nearly cost me the lives of my men. I cannot allow that to happen again. I won’t allow that to happen again.

Yet every time she looks at me, begging me with those blue-green eyes to believe her, I find myself sinking further under her spell. Her mouth is a temptation mortal men will never know and her love will either bring me the peace I thought I’d never find – or the death I’ve managed, thus far, to avoid.

Supernatural

Feb 13 2012, 6:00 am

One of my favorite shows on TV is Supernatural.  I remember watching it from the very first episode back in 2005.  I remember it vividly because of two reasons.

1) My family was staying in my brother’s beach house because Hurricane Rita had destroyed a portion of our home.  And 2) because it scared the Hell out of me.  lol

I don’t like anything scary, so I don’t know why I watched it – alone – that night since my hubby was away on business.  I spent half the show with my hands over my eyes, and the other half ogling Dean Winchester.  From the get go I favored him, and its never changed.  What makes Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) even better, is that both are Texans like me. :D

Since that first episode, there have been discussions on who is the hotter brother.  It’s not just Dean’s hotness I love, its his wisecracking, his smile, and the way his face can convey thousands of different emotions with one look.

Supernatural  has been on long enough that many of my 13 yo daughter’s friends are watching it.  My daughter at first liked Sam, but she’s since changed her mind while all her friends have still stuck with Sam.  lol

I love hearing who people like better. :)

When Castiel joined the cast, it didn’t take long for people to begin saying they liked him almost as much – some said even more! – than Sam or Dean.  I liked Cas’ character, but never understood what people saw in him.  Until I found this…

Wow.  Now, I get it.

Still, my favorite will always be Dean. :)

So how about you?  Are you a Sam, Dean, or Cas fan?

A Dark Guardian

Feb 6 2012, 9:07 am

The second series I ever did was titled the Shields.  It was about a group of men from different times and realms put together by the Fae to battle mythological creatures let loose on our world.  They are some of my favorite books, and I’m so happy to be re-releasing them with new (stunning!) covers.  Here’s a preview of the first Shield book – A DARK GUARDIAN with the new cover and a hot wallpaper by the awesome Rasit Ra!
